This week we launched the latest addition to our collection, the Parker Half Zip Range. As with all of our new products, we encounter the challenge of balancing fashion and function. All of our range is designed with that in mind. It must be appropriate for wearing to the gym or a run and also catching up with friends after for a coffee too.
The Parker Half Zip was designed for the early morning runner and this top boasts a number of fantastic features with that person in mind.
Lightweight Insulation
It took us just under a year to complete the design process and a significant portion was spent on the fabric. This technical fabric is a thermal knit which basically means that it is warm enough to wear during the winter but also lightweight and breathable to wear for your coffee catch ups.
Hidden Side Pocket
This feature may seem like quite a small thing but it is actually vitally important while exercising. From a design and style perspective, it is hidden so as not to take from the look of the top. The pocket itself can fit keys, cards, and an iPhone just about.
Thumbholes & Mittens
Our signature thumbholes on cuffs were never going to be left out. You just have to have these on all your tops these days, no choice. One new feature we have is our fantastic mittens. These work by pulling over the cuff area of the Half Zip and act like a warm glove for the start of your run. Unfortunately, we don’t have any imagery of this as it just ends up looking like a puppet show. You’ll just have to experience it in person.
Reflective Logo
This was another important feature that came out of our research and design process. Any runner will know the importance of staying visible and so designing our logo as reflective plays a crucial role. On the side arm, the logo is slightly lowered and front facing to maximise the visibility of the runner whether it be dawn or dusk.
Designed in Ireland
This new addition to the range is named after the very first G+C office and a place that will always be close to our hearts. This feels like another turning point for us as a small team and company. This product is the culmination of a massive amount of work over the last year and so it only felt right that we name it after where we spent most of our time.
